Privacy
Zapette doesn't ask anything about you. Here is exactly what the app and this website collect, and why.
Last updated: October 30, 2026.
In short
- No account, no name, no email address asked for in the app.
- No ads and no tracking across websites or apps.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics so we know which features are used.
- The website measures its audience without cookies, with a tool we host ourselves.
- Your email address is collected only if you ask to be notified of the Android release.
Who is responsible
iAdaM, publisher of Zapette (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: zapette@iadam.fr.
In the Zapette app
What stays with you
Zapette talks straight to your Apple TV over your local network, without going through a server. Pairings, your list of TVs and the order of your apps stay on your device. We have no access to them.
Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)
To learn which features are used and to fix problems, Zapette sends short usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly European analytics service. For example: the app was opened, a feature was used, the app and system version.
- These signals are anonymized and contain no personal identifier: no name, no email, no stored IP address, no advertising identifier.
- They are not linked to you and are never used for advertising or tracking.
- They are hosted in Europe.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app, with minimal impact on your privacy.
On this website
Audience measurement (Matomo)
We measure this website's audience with Matomo, installed on our own hosting in France. No data is passed to any third party. Matomo is set up to meet the French data protection authority (CNIL) conditions for consent exemption, which is why you don't see a banner:
- no cookies are set;
- your IP address is truncated by 2 bytes before anything is recorded;
- the data is never combined with other websites or other processing;
- it is kept for 25 months at most.
What we measure: pages viewed, the website you came from, device and browser type, country, clicks on the download buttons, Android alert sign-ups, and the FAQ questions you open.
"Zapette on Android" alert (Brevo)
If you ask to be notified when Zapette comes out on Android, we collect your email address, the date of your consent and your language, using the email service Brevo (a French company, with data hosted in the European Union).
- Purpose: sending you one email when Zapette comes out on Android. Nothing else, and your address is never sold or shared.
- Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box in the form and confirmed through a link sent by email (double opt-in).
- Unsubscribe: in one click, with the link in every email, or by writing to us.
- Retention: until the release announcement is sent, then 3 months at most; if Zapette never comes to Android, 3 years at most after you sign up. Your address is deleted as soon as you unsubscribe.
Links to the App Store
The "Download on the App Store" buttons carry a campaign code (for example ct=site-hero-en) that only says which button on the website was clicked. Apple gives us anonymous totals. No personal data goes through these codes. Once you're on the App Store, Apple's privacy policy applies.
Hosting
The website is hosted by OVH in France. Like any web server, it keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) for a limited time, for security purposes. Fonts and images are served by this website, with no calls to Google or any other third-party service.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, restrict its processing or receive it in a portable format, and you can object to its processing. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Write to zapette@iadam.fr: we reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL at cnil.fr or with your local data protection authority.
